6+ Valentine’s Day Crafts for Kids

To all of my crafty and non-crafty mama’s it is time to bond with your kiddo(s) and love on them with quality time.  I am not going to lie that I got a little excited thinking about doing these crafts with my toddlers.  Now I need to prepare myself that how I am imagining these blissful moments may not go as planned.  Do many moments with a 3 and 2 year old go as planned? :)

The treasure from these crafts is the quality time with your little one and the love they feel from you.  And you might just get lucky enough to have a craft to proudly display and then tuck away to pull out years from now and smile at the memories you took the time to make.

(1) Craftulate has some cute ideas for Toddlers!
7 Easy Valentines Crafts for Toddlers – Let the painting begin! I liked the idea of the heart stamps made from empty toilet paper rolls.  Now I have a purpose for the empty roll that I seem to have every other day thanks to a potty training toddler :)

(2) Sensory play – I am going to go ahead and say to get your vacuum cleaner on stand by! Seriously though, how nice to have a chance for your little one to put their hands in and play around without care for a crazy, hard to clean mess.  Not to mention not having to fret if any makes it to their mouths.  Lets be real.. it is bound to happen!

(3) Heart Valentine animals – Grab your construction paper and safety scissors.  This is a great opportunity to work on cutting out shapes and gluing. For extra fun, let your imaginations play and make up stories with your newly created animals.

(4) Old fashioned color by number – Here is a chance to work on numbers, colors, and coloring in the line.  This would be a great craft for when you need a mommy break if you have older kids.

(5) DIY Scratch off cards – Come Together Kids blog has a great tutorial on how to create your own scratch off cards.

(6) Canvas art – Grab a canvas, painters tape, and paint.  Tape off “Love” or maybe a heart shape.  Go to town with painting and then remove your tape.  Stand in awe of your art!

Have fun and enjoy loving on your kiddos!

“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
