Freedom from Emotions

get-attachment (48)Lately I feel like my life is surrounded by the whirlwind that is my emotions. I didn’t know what it was for a couple of weeks. Why was I getting so emotional over nothing or my feelings would get hurt so easily? I didn’t understand. It was like I was trying to escape the emotions I was feeling because in all honesty I was stuck in them. I couldn’t break free, and I was looking for freedom away from them. Your life can take a turn for the bad if you just let your emotions run your life and how you react to situations. Believe me, I know. For the past couple of weeks, it was like I wanted to fight with someone. Rather than turning to God I would let my emotions take control and they did a 180 on how I was acting. I would be chipper one second and BAM you better run the other way because things got scary crazy!

Now I have pinpointed why my emotions have been so crazy. I am pregnant. Pregnant with my third baby. It explains why, but now that I know what is going on I can turn to God. I can get back into the word and fight these emotions and lay them down at the feet of Jesus. You don’t need to be pregnant to pinpoint what is going on. You just need to sit down and take a big, long, hard look at yourself. You could be going through a rough patch in your life, you could be hurt by things you haven’t said. The list goes on and on, but the only way to get freedom from this is to take the step. You need to lay it down at the foot of the cross and leave it there. Don’t go back and pick it up.

When you give things to God, you should never go back and pick them up. Trust God!

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Proverbs 16:32 “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”

Galatians 5:16-24 “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,”
