Running YOUR Race with Endurance

get-attachment (39)

Hebrews 12:1 NLT “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.  And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

I believe there are different races we run depending on the season we are in.  My current race:  Parenthood with little ones.

There are so many moments throughout my day that I think “If I can just get this done…” or “If I can make it to nap time…”  I can’t be the only one right?! At the end of the day sometimes I just feel like I simply endured the whole day simply to accomplish tasks and not enjoy the many small blessings that God tucked in there for me to see his goodness.  I completely overlooked my motivation(s) for even getting out of bed to begin with.  THANK YOU Jesus for the blessings you tuck in my daily life.  Oh how wonderful you are.

The dictionary defines endurance as:  the ability or strength to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina.  (www.dictionary.com)

Yes, with three under three (and a husband!) I am exhausted…most of the time! But I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything.

My prayer is for energy to truly enjoy them and not focus on everything else being perfect.  When I think about how I desire my children to remember their childhood it is that they were loved and loved well.  That they know without a doubt that their mommy and daddy have a relationship with Jesus, a strong marriage, and that each child felt valued.

1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Lord, I pray for strength to not give in to feeling overwhelmed by the demands of my day and my family.  That I see how blessed I am and not believe the enemy that I am stuck in a rut and am not making a difference in the world each day.

1 Samuel 16:7b NLT “The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them.  People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
