DIY: Face Lotion with Coconut Oil

get-attachment (24)

I’ve been using this recipe for over a year now and I love it! I have very dry skin and I also live in a very dry climate. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it takes just a few minutes to put together, a little goes a long way, AND its ingredients are perfect even for more oily skin types!

Without further ado…the RECIPE:

What You’ll Need:

  • Coconut oil
  • Baby lotion
  • Vitamin E cream or capsules

Directions:

Whip up even portions of the coconut oil and baby lotion. Honestly, I only added the baby lotion for it’s scent (I have a lavender scented one). You can choose to skip that step or you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Next, depending on if you’re using the cream or capsule; for cream you want about 1/3 of the portion you used of the ingredients above, and the capsule, you want to use just 1-2 liquid capsules.

To use the liquid capsules, simply poke a hole in it using a thumb tack or nail and squeeze out the vitamin E.

My first batch was measured in cups. This made about 12-16oz.

Benefits:

  • Moisturizing!
  • Not oily-feeling or greasy.
  • Long-lasting moisturization.
  • Simple to make.
  • Cost Effective!
