Steps of Faith

Lately, I have felt overwhelmed with my toddlers and the multitude of meltdowns we seem to face and the perseverance they have for what they know they are not meant to be in or do.

Recently, as much as I hate to admit this, we faced a rough moment where we all ended up melting down in a store.  Real life here! I was humiliated and frustrated and took a moment to take a deep breath and cry out to God for help.  I sat on my phone for a few minutes in the stillness of the car to calm down before driving home and came across the verse in Philippians 4:5.

Philippians 4:5 NIV “Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near”

I was beyond excited to wake up with this verse still on my heart and I have continued to meditate on it all day.  Our day held several opportunities where I could have lost my cool and I just kept saying this verse out loud and proclaiming gentleness in my relationship with my little blessings.

When you are going through a rough moment, day, week or even more and are not sure when or how your storm will end, just keep following peace.

Even the tiniest of your steps of faith (and lots of deep breaths!) has been ordered by God and make the biggest difference.

Psalm 61:2 NIV “From the ends of the earth I call to you.  I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

I hope this encourages other mommies going through a rough spot of communicating with their children or in any other situation you face.
