On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand

“For we are to live by faith, not by sight…” 2 Corinthians 5:7

That verse seems so simple to follow. However, most of us don’t actually walk by faith as it’s intended in this verse. We might walk by faith in our education, career status, bank accounts, medicine, spouse, or children. We allow circumstantial thoughts, events, and people to define what we will trust. When is the last time we just trusted God because his word says?

For many years, I read 2 Corinthians 5:7 and moved on to the next verse. However, if I’m being real, I didn’t have a clue about faith. Because like most, when times were good, God was good…so good! But when condemnation, depression, or loneliness creep in… Well, God just isn’t settling my heart. He must not love me.

The beautiful thing about walking by faith and not by sight is that even when I feel at my lowest point, God is indeed my all in all… and I will know that it is Him comforting (Jeremiah 8:18) me.

When walking by faith, the truth about Him really starts to bing off the pages and come to life…

When our faith is in God and not by what we can see or feel, we are standing on a strong foundation. Matthew 7:24-27
