This week at Summer camp, we learned about the transfiguration in bible study.

You can read this account in Matthew Chapter 17.

17 1-3 Six days later, three of them saw that glory. Jesus took Peter and the brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain. His appearance changed from the inside out, right before their eyes. Sunlight poured from his face. His clothes were filled with light. Then they realized that Moses and Elijah were also there in deep conversation with him. (The Message)

Jesus told them after the account to not tell anyone until he had risen from the dead.

I know a lot of times, when I am reading the bible. I don’t understand a lot of things. I pray to God for wisdom. Oswald Chambers, Author of My utmost for His Highest, writes about the transfiguration and what it means for us.

“The Transfiguration was completed on the mount of ascension. If Jesus had Gone to Heaven directly at the mount, he would have gone alone.”

Remember he changed into his glorious being on the mount. He could have gone to Heaven, turned his back, instead, he “Turned his back on the glory and came down from the mountain to identify himself with fallen humanity.”

Why in the world would anybody turn from Glory. Would you today?

Jesus had to Turn his back on Glory to finish the good works of Saving us!!!  He Loves us that much!!!

If he would have went right then, here we would be condemned but he finished the crucifixion and rising again to save us.

This word Spoke to my heart so much. I pray it does yours too. To see him turn his back on glory, for me! for YOU!!!!

We thank you Jesus and Praise you for Loving us so much!
